This policy explains how pre-orders and backorders work at Street Element. By placing a pre-order or backorder, you agree to the conditions outlined below.
What Is a Pre-Order?
A pre-order allows you to secure an upcoming or incoming product before it arrives at our warehouse. Pre-orders are typically marked with an estimated arrival date on the product page.
Placing a pre-order guarantees that the item will be reserved for you once stock arrives.
What Is a Backorder?
A backorder applies when an item is temporarily out of stock but scheduled for restock. You may still purchase the item, and it will be shipped once new stock arrives.
Backordered items are also marked with an estimated restock date on the product page.
Estimated Arrival Dates
Estimated arrival and dispatch dates are based on supplier updates, freight timelines, and customs clearance (if applicable).
These dates are estimates only and may change due to:

Customs inspections

Weather or transport disruptions
We will update customers via email if there are significant changes to ETA.
Payment for Pre-Orders & Backorders
Full payment is required at the time of placing a pre-order or backorder. This secures your allocation and locks in pricing at the time of purchase.
Cancelling Pre-Orders & Backorders
Because stock is allocated specifically for your order:

Cancellations are allowed within 24 hours of placing the order

After 24 hours, cancellations may not be accepted due to supplier allocation and planning

If approved after 24 hours, cancellation may be subject to an administration or restocking fee depending on the situation

If the item is significantly delayed beyond the estimated timeframe, you may request a cancellation for a full refund
Shipping & Dispatch Timeline

Once pre-order/backorder stock arrives at our warehouse and is quality-checked, orders will be processed and dispatched in 1–2 business days

You will receive a confirmation email and tracking number once the order ships
If your order contains both in-stock items and pre-order/backorder items:

Orders may be held and shipped together by default

If you want in-stock items shipped separately, an additional shipping fee may apply
Changes to Your Order
Please contact us at info@streetelement.com.au if you need to update your delivery address or modify your order.
Changes can only be made before the order has entered the packing or dispatch stage.
Consumer Guarantees
All pre-order and backorder purchases remain protected under Australian Consumer Law. If your item arrives faulty or damaged, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund as outlined in our Returns & Exchange Policy.
